About 'Drip-Blumat' (Tropf-Blumat):

Conventional watering systems release water at intervals which are automatically scheduled via computer. What they do not take into consideration is the amount of sunshine, the current moisture of the soil or the varying water requirements of individual plants.
Drip-Blumat is different: It doesn't have to be plugged into the power supply, nor does it require a computer. Each ceramic cone responds to the moisture content of the surrounding soil, only releasing the amount of water required by the particular plant at any given moment.

So Drip-Blumat is a sensor and drip feed system, both at the same time. It supplies plants with drips of water via thin tubing. As the soil dries, its natural suction power triggers the opening of the Drip-Blumat allowing the water to flow. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the Drip-Blumat automatically stops. The system functions fully automatically.

Every plant, every container or group of plants requires at least 1 Drip-Blumat adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. Larger containers or surfaces require longer or more than one sensor. All Drip-Blumats are connected using one supply tube, this allows for flexibility in the layout and is changeable at any time.
This opens up a wide spectrum of possible uses- from balcony boxes, to container plantings on a patio or in a sunroom, to smaller bed plantings, to tomato plants or other plants in a small greenhouse.
