Native to the Mediterranean region and western Asia. Hairy annual with upright, hollow stems and lanceolate leaves. Blue flowers in summer, followed by tiny brown-black seeds. Try adding chopped young leaves and flowers to salads or summer drinks, or cooked as a vegetable.
