A three year ‚biennial‘, it flowers the third year and dies. All parts share the special flavour. The leaves can be stewed with fruit, the shoots are used in salads, the stems and roots as a vegetable and the seeds in pastry dishes. It is said to be the most tasty of the 'Angelicas'.
